Just a quick update today. There’s still so much to do before my upcoming exhibition at Feinkunst Krüger. And I’m relatively quiet right now, outwardly, on social media, and in general. That’s intentional, because my whole focus is on “Alex Diamond’s Barn Dance.” Opening night is October 31st. It feels like it’s the day after tomorrow.
But it’s almost done. One more big piece to go, the finale of this series. Right now I’m sitting in front of the empty wooden panel. 140 x 100 cm, almost 10 cm thick, an estimated 30 kilos of wood and glue and screws. Over the past few months I’ve created something completely new, and I’m really looking forward to showing it to you soon. Until then, though, I don’t want to show anything yet, not before the opening, which is why the background in the photo above is pixelated.
This, by the way, is the central work: an altarpiece with wings, 140 x 100 cm closed and, accordingly, 200 cm wide when opened. And for my technique of painting and woodcut, these are simply immense dimensions, not remotely comparable to a painted canvas.
